2000 Posies and a Few Y-2k LadyBugs This was my own personal "millenium" project. As the title suggests, and the buzz at the time was the Y-2K bug (remember?). A dozen lady bugs are found throughout the quilt. There are also 2000 flowers appliqued onto the quilt - I know, I cut each one individually. The scene is a whimsical scope of downtown Toronto including the Riverdale Farm. local neighbourhood gardens and the famous CN Tower with some of Toronto downtown built in. Mini quilts even hang from clotheslines in the background. The foreground depicts the front porch of a Victorian home in Cabbagetown complete with stained glass window and lattice work covered with posies. The foreground is a flower lined street with many buttons, sequins and other embellishments. This project took 6 enjoyable months to complete, took on a life of its own and is the centerpiece of my studio.
