The very popular Dresden Plate was once again chosen as the pattern for this birthday quilt. Pastel blues and pin "Plates" were set onto a very pale yellow and framed with a soft pastel print.

The inscription - very loving and touching was as follows:

" Mother

You are the fabric of our beginning The bridge to our past And in your strength you have weaved in us the gifts of Love and kindness to last for eternity.

Happy Birthday
5/22/2004"

Many generations of a loving family were represented in this quilt and one particular great grandmother who really knew how to keep peace and order in her family. In the picture above (Detail 1) although hard to see in this reproduction is the gun she is holding in her left hand.

As in many other cases, a lovely friendship was created along with this quilt.
